Our Own Green Star Initiatives
Rainwater Harvesting Recognising that South Australia is the driest state in the driest inhabited continent with most of the state in the arid zone, we have taken the proactive initiative to install an underground 27-thousand litre rainwater tank at our Head Office to harvest rainwater for the daily watering of our plants . Our commitment to rainwater harvesting not only mitigates the need to rely on often scare fresh water supplies from public utilities, we see the need to help preserve our aquifers. |

Recycled Glass Pebbles Many of our clients prefer to use 100% recycled glass pebbles for their decorative finish on top of the planters because they reduce the need to use riverstone pebbles. Not only do the highly polished glass pebbles provide a stylish decorative look, their use represent another commitment to maintain our natural resources. |
Biodegradable Products Maintaining our trees and plants requires regular treatments to prevent fungus, insects and diseases. We have adopted a policy of using only biodegradable and environmentally-friendly organic-based compounds such as pyrethrum, a perennial composite, and various eco-oils derived from nature itself to maintain suitable plant control measures. This is particularly beneficial for the office environment where office workers are in close proximity to indoor plants. |
Recycling Organic Waste Recent statistics reveal that more than 1 million tonnes of waste are deposited in South Australian landfills each year. Our commitment is to reduce waste going to landfill and we work proactively with our recycling partners to ensure organic & recyclable waste is recycled in an appropriate manner to protect our environment. |

The Paperless Office Yes, there are many critics of the ideals surrounding the pursuit of a paperless office where written content is supposed to be maintained electronically as opposed to the use of printed paper. The facts are that 70% of office waste is made up of paper with 10,000 sheets used for every worker each year. Every tonne of paper recycled saves 13 trees, 4,100 kilowatts of electricity and more than 30,000 litres of water. Our planet is losing at least 16.2 million hectares of forests through logging and land clearing. With this in mind, Jarrett's believes that converting to a paperless office will help reverse this trend and we have implement strict protocols in electronic data storage, printing guidelines, invoicing, e-transactions, customer records & access and we are encouraging our clients to partner with us in implementing the benefits of a paperless office. |
